Welcome to the website for CEVA Newsfast, the UK's leading multi-user logistics service provider. CEVA Newsfast operates a single national network of 19 sites a fleet of 850 vehicles and employs 2,300 people. Operations are controlled via a single transport system with an integrated warehouse management system.
Our services are concentrated on two specific market sectors, publishing and FMCG. With Apollo as our owners we have the focus and investment to expand our capabilities and develop our services for existing and new customers alike. We are very excited about the future.
In news and media, we collect from the printer, breakbulk, consolidate and deliver into the news network. For magazines, our IT manages the flow from the known print date to the on-sale date, on the publisher's behalf.
In FMCG the client is either the retailer or the manufacturer. We manage the whole supply chain, from factory to warehouse to final delivery to the retailer's RDC. We also manage raw materials' movement into the factory.
We have import control centres in Felixstowe and Mendlesham. We're the only independent operator in the port of Felixstowe, and have visibility of products at sea, which enables us to plan receipt and onward distribution. The majority of the product we handle is palletised: we handle over 100,000 pallets per week.
The whole multi-user business is ISO9001 accredited. We're also Investors in People. Our multi-user network is also certificated to Health & Safety standard OHSAS18001.
All our vehicles have Euro3 engines; the cabs and trailers have full aerodynamic systems. New Euro4 vehicles are being phased in this year and we are currently trialling the two fuel systems SCR and EGR with MAN and Mercedes. We have invested in SAFED training, the Government initiative for fuel-efficient driving, reducing gear changes by a third and cutting fuel consumption by up to five percent. Cost saving initiatives like this enable us to be competitive and, in turn, for our customers to be competitive. We are looking closely at reducing our carbon foot print and we are about to trial a 7.5 tonne zero emissions vehicle.
